2.1. Evaluation of the natural resources of Vas County based on heat extractable from the ground and groundwater.

In executing the first stage of our research program we drafted the research strategy defined our goals, set the timetable, selected acquired and calibrated the appropriate measuring instruments and started the acquisition of the necessary resources (maps, reports and articles). Using already available resources we designed and executed cryogenic experiments on soil samples with varying moisture content.

2.2. The spatial distribution of wind energy potential in the Northwest-Transdanubium

The realization of project happened according to this aim. Task between 2009 September and 2010 February:
Purchasing of database (wind speed and direction),
Data registration in Excel schedules.

We had to make changes compared to the proposed project. The reason of it is the alteration of budget. This change pertains to the worked up data. Originally we planed to buy the wind speed and direction data of National Meteorological Service, but now we have no chance to get it. The modified database is better as the original one, because we can work up the hourly wind data between 2004 and 2008, measured at two stations (Fertőújlak and Balatonmagyaród – Almás-sziget) of Directorate of Environment Protection and Water Affair.

We bought the hourly wind speed and wind direction data of these two stations from Directorate of Environment Protection and Water Affair. We made the registration of measured data in Excel schedules.

We shall begin the examinations in the second period of project (the daily average procession of wind speed during different weather situations).

2.3. Efficiency and suitability analysis of solar energy utilization in the West-Transdanubium region

In executing the first stage of our research program we drafted the research strategy defined our goals, set the timetable, and carefully selected the instrument which will be used to measure and record temperature (DS1922L temperature logger iButtons). The acquisition and the calibration of the necessary equipment is done. We also contacted appropriate offices of Vas County, and studied the database of the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS).
